The master’s degree in Experimental Psychology is a flexible degree program that prepares students for doctoral study in psychology and related fields and for specialized, research-oriented occupations. The Experimental major requires a minimum of 37 graduate credit hours. Students must submit a thesis in partial fulfillment of their degree requirements. Each student’s advisory committee constitutes the reading committee for the master’s thesis. The master’s thesis is an original, independent, experimental research project with the potential for publication in a scholarly journal. Consult the publication manual of the American Psychological Association for clarification of what qualifies as research in experimental psychology and for guidance regarding the design and reporting of psychological science research.
