Code: 1651

The Performance Certificate is a professional certificate, either post-baccalaureate or post-master’s, that allows students to focus exclusively on improving their performance by studying with a master teacher. This is a stand-alone certificate. The certificate requires 12 hours minimum to complete. It can be completed in one to two years.

The Performance Certificate will help prepare students in the field of music to develop a higher level of proficiency as instrumentalists, singers, composers, or conductors in a variety of contexts culminating in a recital and/or special performance. Students may choose from one of four areas: Performance, Conducting, Composition, or Historical Performance.

The Performance Certificate also allows students to pursue areas of special and related interest through elective studies. The University of Central Oklahoma is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
