The MFA in Illustration is a terminal degree program whose curriculum is created specifically for students interested in developing a body of illustrated work dedicated to image and serial image making for commercial application that will make them competitive locally, regionally and nationally. The program will also address essential educational needs including: personal stylistic development; advanced concepts in marketing, branding and practical business applications; storytelling; historical and theoretical frameworks; as well as teaching illustration.

Submit the following items to: Jackson College of Graduate Studies 100 N. University Drive, NUC 404 Edmond, OK 73034 - Online application for admission (www.uco.edu/graduate/).
- Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts from each institution attended with all degrees posted. All transcripts must be from accredited institutions.
- Essay to the Department of Design with rationale for their desire to enter the MFA program.
- Digital Portfolio submission* (See Additional Information)
- Creative process documentation* (See Additional Information)
- Interview with the candidate either in person or via Skype.
- All applicants and materials will be reviewed by the Department Chair, Director of MFA Illustration Program, Associate Director of the Illustration Program
- Students with a native language other than English must submit evidence of English language proficiency. See Admission to Graduate Studies - English Language Proficiency.

- Plan of Study. Each student must develop a plan of study with their program advisor and file it with the Jackson College of Graduate Studies by the end of the first semester of graduate work. The plan must be signed and dated by the student and the graduate program advisor before it can be considered official.
- Academic Standards. Meet the following course work standards:
- Overall GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Students accepted in the program must achieve a minimum of “B” for every course taken.
- Final Requirements. Apply for graduation through the JCGS by advertised deadline.
Additional Information
It is recommended the digital portfolio submission include 10 - 15 examples of illustration work with project titles, dates and other relevant information, and creative process documentation for at least one major project that shows idea generation through final production. Required Courses: 36 Hours
