Major Requirements


Technical Writing: 54-62 Minimum Required Hours


Any ENG course at the 3000/4000 level: 3 Credit Hours


Modern Language Requirement: 0-8 Credit Hours


All students completing a B.A. in Technical Writing shall complete the first two semesters of a second language. Students may alternatively fulfill the language requirement by proof of academic work in the second language (CLEP test through the Elementary II level, for example SPAN 1224), four years of high school language courses, or transfer work from another institution.

Electives to bring total to: 124 Minimum Required Hours


Minimum Grade Requirements


  1. Average in all college course work and course work at UCO: 2.00
  2. Average in major courses: 2.50

Admission requires a 3.0 undergraduate GPA (overall) or undergraduate GPA (last 60 hours completed) and application to, and approval of, the Technical Writing/Composition and Rhetoric BA/MA Committee

Students may enroll in the three 5000-level course as part of the accelerated program.
