Major Requirements


Criminal Justice - Corrections & Transformative Justice: 54-62 Minimum Required Hours


Foundation Courses: 33 Credit Hours


Modern Language Requirement: 0-8 Credit Hours


All students completing a B.A. in Criminal Justice - Corrections & Transformative Justice shall complete the first two semesters of a second language. Students may alternatively fulfill the language requirement by proof of academic work in the second language (CLEP test through the Elementary II level, for example SPAN 1224), four years of high school language courses, or transfer work from another institution. (Spanish highly recommended for Criminal Justice majors.)

  2. Average in major courses: 2.50

Students wishing to apply for the Accelerated BA/MA program in Criminal Justice may enroll in three Criminal Justice graduate-level courses as seniors under the Graduate College’s Accelerated Degree Program (ADP). Students may choose any cross-listed (4000/5000) course with permission of the Criminal Justice Graduate Program Director. Admission requires a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, and application to and approval of the CJ Accelerated BA/MA Committee. Students may enroll in three 5000-level courses as part of the Accelerated Program..
