Major Requirements

Music - Musical Theatre: 86 Minimum Required Hours

Required Music Courses: 35 Credit Hours

Required Musical Theatre Courses: 19 Credit Hours

Applied Voice: 16 Credit Hours

Piano: 2 Credit Hours

All students must enroll in Class Piano (MPER 2731 and MPER 2831 ) the first two semesters of study. A grade of ‘C’ in each course demonstrates proficiency at that level.

Major Ensemble: 2 Credit Hours

(University Choir, Band, Symphony Orchestra, Opera Performance, Opera Workshop, Concert Chorale, Cantilena, Cantare, Second Street Singers, Kaleidoscope Dance Company)

Guided Electives: 6 Credit Hours

(courses in ACM, MPER, MUED, MUS, DANC, and/or THRT at 3000/4000 level)

Minimum Hours required: 125 *

A grade of “C” or better must be earned in all other courses in the major to count toward meeting degree requirements, except for applied major courses.
