Accounting Certificate: 48 Minimum Required Hours
Required courses: 24 Credit Hours
Accounting Electives (3000/4000 level): 18 Credit Hours
ACCT 3423 Data Analysis for Accountants OR ACCT 3433 Accounting Information Systems recommended.
All non-required 3000/4000 Accounting Courses EXCEPT ACCT 3113 AND ACCT 3513 will apply.
No more than 6 total hours from ACCT 4950 Internship AND ACCT 4412 , ACCT 4421 , ACCT 4432 , ACCT 4442 - CPA Review courses may count toward Accounting Elective hours. CPA Review courses suggested for the last six hours.
Business Courses: 6 Credit Hours
Any 6 hours of the following:
(FIN 3563 Fundamentals of Business Finance and/or ISOM 3323 Business Analytics suggested.)
Notes:
* Requires a “C” or better grade to continue.
** Requires a “B” or better grade to continue.
At least 24 hours must be taken at UCO (exclusive of extra-institutional examination credit), including at least 15 hours of 3000/4000 level Accounting.
Courses applied toward one certificate program may not be applied towards a second certification program.

Minimum Grade Requirements
- Average in all Accounting Certificate college course work: 2.25
- Average in all Accounting course work: 2.50
- Average in the 3000/4000 level Accounting courses: 2.50
- In ACCT 2113 and ACCT 2133 ”C”
- In ACCT 3213 ”B”
Minimum Education Requirements to sit for the CPA Examination in Oklahoma:
Bachelor’s degree in any field.
24 credit hours of Accounting courses beyond the introductory level which must include external auditing.
Oklahoma has other non-educational requirements to apply to sit for the CPA Examination. The Oklahoma Accountancy Board can amend the requirements for candidates to take the CPA Examination at its discretion.
A student must consult with any other of the 54 jurisdictions if they want to take the CPA Examination in another state to determine if he or she meets the requirements for that particular state.
