FRSC 4273 - Advanced Fingerprint Analysis Advanced Fingerprint Analysis focuses on the application of AFIS technology to analyze fingerprints and palm prints, to compare exemplars to unknown prints, and to evaluate prints to form a conclusion of identification, elimination, or inconclusive. Students will review ACE-V methodology, learn advanced physical and chemical processing techniques, learn the application of RUVIS microscope for fingerprint examination, and explore the use of fingerprints within the judicial system. Students will also discuss the vulnerabilities that may occur in the classifiication and analysis of fingerprints. Students will apply learned techniques and technology to a mock case and will be responsible for collecting and analyzing prints as well as testifying in regard to their evidence.

Prerequisites: FRSC 4253
Enrollment Restrictions: Junior standing or above.
