ENG 4703 - Kung Fu Films and Literature


This course examines kung fu films, focusing primarily on Hong Kong films.  Students will identify the conventions of this genre.  Students will formulate how the Chinese philosophies of Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism are used in such films. Finally, students will assess how kung fu films become recognized as an influential global cinema. 

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisites: ENG 1113  AND ENG 1213  

Enrollment Restrictions: Senior standing.
