ELED 4333 - Teaching Math in Intermediate Grades


This course is designed to facilitate the prospective teacher’s ability to meet the needs of intermediate grade students in the study of mathematics. It includes the study of current trends in mathematics curriculum; instructional techniques and materials; assessment of student performance; and curriculum programs. Specific topics covered are patterns and relationships; organizing, analyzing and synthesizing data; communicating mathematically; strategies for problem solving; mathematical concepts and skills of whole numbers, rational numbers, geometry, and measurement; and the use of technology.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisites: ELED 4323
