CMSC 1053 - Professional Computer Applications And Problem Solving

This course provides a hands-on introduction to current professional computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, Web authoring and presentation. Essential concepts of computer hardware, software, network and security issues are covered. Special attention is devoted toward problem solving using software applications in both personal and workplace computing environments. Legal and ethical issues related to the use of computers are also addressed.
