CJ 1543 - Custody and Control Tactics Custody and Control Tactics is an in-depth examination with aspects of force in custodial settings. This course instructs students in the necessary attitudes, knowledge and psychomotor skills required for weaponless subject control, intermediate range weapons use and self-defense techniques. The course also instructs students in how to minimize the use of excessive and unnecessary deadly force to meet legal review.
Credit Hours: 3
Concurrent Enrollment / Corequisites: Concurrent enrollment in CJ 1533 , CJ 1553 , and CJ 1563 is required.
Enrollment Restrictions: Senior standing and admission to Collegiate Officer Program (COP). Enrollment open to Criminal Justice majors only.
