All students completing a B.A. in Strategic Communications shall complete the first two semesters of a second language. Students may alternatively fulfill the language requirement by proof of academic work in the second language (CLEP test through the Elementary II level, for example SPAN 1224), four years of high school language courses, or transfer work from another institution. Electives to bring total to: 124 Minimum Required Hours

- Average in all college course work and course work at UCO: 2.00
- Average in major courses: 2.50
Accelerated Degree Pathway (ADP)
Students in the B.A. in Strategic Communications-Advertising and Public Relations program are eligible to pursue an M.A. in Strategic Communications-Leadership in Communications degree while still an undergraduate, which means that they can take courses that will count toward both the B.A. and M.A. degrees. A formal application to the M.A. in Strategic Communications-Leadership in Communications program and approval from the Department of Mass Communication are required.
