Major Requirements


Criminal Justice - General Criminal Justice: 54-62 Minimum Required Hours


Foundation Courses: 33 Credit Hours


Modern Language Requirement: 0-8 Credit Hours


All students completing a B.A. in Criminal Justice - General Criminal Justice shall complete the first two semesters of a second language. Students may alternatively fulfill the language requirement by proof of academic work in the second language (CLEP test through the Elementary II level, for example SPAN 1224), four years of high school language courses, or transfer work from another institution. (Spanish highly recommended for Criminal Justice majors.)

  2. Average in major courses: 2.50

Accelerated Degree Pathway (ADP)


Students in the B.A. in Criminal Justice - General Criminal Justice program are eligible to pursue a M.A. in Criminal Justice Management and Administration or a M.A. in Crime and Intelligence Analysis degree while still an undergraduate, which means that they can take courses that will count toward both the B.A. and M.A. degrees. A formal application to the M.A. in Criminal Justice Management and Administration program or the M.A. in Crime and Intelligence Analysis program and approval from the School of Criminal Justice are required.
