Major Requirements


History of Art and Visual Culture: 75 Minimum Required Hours


History of Art and Visual Culture Courses: 30 Credit Hours


Liberal Arts Courses: 18 Credit Hours


Modern Language Requirement: 0-8 Credit Hours

All students completing a B.A. in History of Art and Visual Culture shall complete the first two semesters of a second language. Students may alternatively fulfill the language requirement by proof of academic work in the second language (CLEP test through LATN 1224 ), four years of high school language courses, or transfer wrok from another institution.

  1. Average in all college course work and course work at UCO: 2.00
  2. Average in major courses: 2.75

Accelerated Degree Pathway (ADP)


Students in the B.A. in History of Art and Visual Cultural program are eligible to pursue an M.A. in History - Museum Studies degree while still an undergraduate, which means that they can take courses that will count toward both the B.A. and M.A. degrees. A formal application to the M.A. History - Museum Studies program and approval from the Department of History and Geography are required.
