SLP 5513 - Legal and Cultural Considerations in SLP


This course presents an in-depth study of legal and cultural components related to the practice of Speech-Language Pathology. Topics include legislation relevant to speech-language pathology, ethical requirements, legal considerations for various work settings, and cultural diversity. Specific communicative characteristics of different cultures are examined with focus on differentiating typical cultural variance from atypical communication.
