MUS 5572 - British and American Song

This coruse is the study of British and American Song for solo voice or vocal chamber ensemble. The purpose of this course is to inform performance practice through the study of the musical style, structure, historical and social context, including attention to textual interpretation and diction of British and American Song. The course is presented through lecture, demonstrations, recordings and class participation of representative selections of the repertoire. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment is open to Master of Music and Jazz Studies majors only.
