BIO 5053 - Conservation Biology This course is a study of anthropogenic effects on biological diversity. Through a combination of in-class lectures, discussions, and readings from the primary and secondary literature, students will learn how human activities have threatened biological diversity at the global scale, both historically and currently. Mechanisms for preventing future losses of biological diversity, both at the individual and societal levels, will be emphasized. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Biology Graduate Program OR Permission of Instructor.
