CSDY 4283 - Advanced Fiction Writing-Short Story


Advanced Fiction Writing-Short Story is a writing workshop dedicated to the study and production of one of the foundational literary forms, the short story. Students will produce short stories and complete writing assignments designed to strengthen writing skills and will study classic and contemporary examples of the short story form and the elements of fiction that go into any story, no matter its style: characterization, narration, point-of-view, structure, use of time and place, dialogue, culture, and frame of reference.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisites: ENG 1113 ENG 1213  AND CSDY 2513  

Notes: This course may be taken up to three times for credit.
