ART 2463 - Intro to Jewelry and Metals This course is designed as an introduction to the metal arts through making jewelry and small metal objects. Traditional and contemporary approaches will be investigated and used to create several handcrafted jewelry and small metal objects with a focus on design, technical execution, and craftsmanship. This course will include basic sawing, surface embellishments, cold connection, metal forming, stone setting, and soldering application. Personal safety of tolls and machinery related to jewelry making will be applied.
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisites: ART 2903 with minimum grade of C.
Enrollment Restrictions: Sophomore standing or above.
